With the revision of Book 1 completed and Book 2 now making steady progress, I’ve decided to provide little snippet teasers to keep you going until the releases are public. You can sign up for my newsletter at the bottom of this page.
“You cannot be serious!” he exclaims, “Amanae, did you really not see?!”
Before I have chance to react to his actions he takes my hand in his again. This time there is a level of heat in his touch and the vision he projects is very focused on the girl in his dream, ‘Look closely,’ he demands, ‘it is you!’
I gasp. But that’s not possible! I am not that beautiful! I concentrate on the girl and can certainly see the similarities, but I still can’t believe that it’s real. Caelsah obviously has a very strong imagination.
I take my hand away more gently this time and look at him with slightly sad eyes. “Please don’t play tricks with me, Caelsah, I have enough to cope with as it is.” He opens his mouth to argue, but I shake my head. “Please, don’t.”
He closes his mouth and huffs. “Blind and stubborn,” he growls.
I suddenly realized how late it is – “I should be getting home, my parents will probably be worried about whether or not I’ve run away.”
“No they will not,” he states matter-of-factly, “they know you are with me.” He looks annoyed as if he’s brooding over something. I shake my head – he’s very confusing.
He grabs my arm and growls, “Come with me, I need to figure something out.” His grip is hot and like a steel vice. It doesn’t hurt but there’s no way I’m getting free of it – I have no choice but to follow as I’m quite sure he’d simply drag me if I didn’t cooperate.
He strides through the forest without another word, it’s now very dark and my eyes are having difficulty adjusting. The next thing I know we’re in a clearing on the other side of the lake looking towards the main part of the Village. I suck in my breath and hold it. I’m in awe of the vision before me. Every time I see something new at this place it’s like the beauty of it manages to outshine the beauty of everything else before it! The entire village is glowing, the lights are dancing across the lake, there’s an aura of beauty that takes my breath away… it’s similar to the image I’d seen the other night when I thought I was still dreaming. But seeing this, maybe I really had woken up in the middle of the night.
Caelsah cut through my thoughts. “What do you see?” he’s still growling – it seems so out of place here.
“Well I’d imagine I’m seeing the same thing as you!” I can growl too – albeit not quite as effectively as him.
He looks faintly amused. “One may normally make that assumption, but in your case, I’m not so sure. So describe it.” It’s a demand, not a request.
I think about refusing, but really, what’s the point. “I see an exquisitely beautiful village with a surreal look and an iridescent glow. The lights are dancing across the water towards us as if beckoning us to join them.” My eyes are caught by something higher up, I gasp again. “There are lights in the trees and bridges between them.” My gaze sweeps the trees, I can see no end to the lights. “How big is this Village?” I ask in a whisper.
