With the revision of Book 1 completed and Book 2 now making steady progress, I’ve decided to provide little snippet teasers to keep you going until the releases are public. You can sign up for my newsletter at the bottom of this page.
Sylaera waves her hand dismissively again as she had the other day. “Oh really, do not worry about her, she is just jealous.”
“Jealous?! Of what?! She’s the most beautiful girl I’ve ever seen. I’m the one who should be jealous of her!” I say staring after her.
I look back at my new friends to find them all staring at me. They look like they’re in shock. Had I offended them? Surely they must see her beauty?
“What? Did I say something wrong? I’m sorry, you’re all very beautiful, but there is just something about her…” I’m not sure if I’m making the situation better or worse. “Oh please don’t look at me like that,” I plead.
Suddenly the girls all recompose and are instantly smiling. What’s wrong with them?! His voice answers that question. “I have never heard of an Elf needing glasses, but I suppose there could be an exception.” I’m afraid to turn around.
“Do you often make a habit of eavesdropping on other people’s conversations, Caelsah?” I ask without looking at him. My friends look at me with disbelief. “What?” I question their looks. “To my knowledge that’s a rude habit regardless of where you come from.”
Caelsah chuckles, “Blind and stubborn.” It’s the second time he’s called me that. Still standing behind me, he leans close to my ear and whispers, “We need to talk.” I feel my heart skip a beat at his hot breath on my ear. Then in a normal voice tone he states, “I like your hair today, longer suits you.” As he starts to walk past us I find myself exhaling and realize that I’d been holding my breath. Suddenly he turns and meets my gaze, “By the way, I believe it is also deemed to be rude to not look at the person to whom you speak.” He winks at me and then carries on down the hall. My knees give out on me and I sit on the ground.
“Oh he is infuriatingly arrogant!” I fume.
