With the revision of Book 1 completed and Book 2 now making steady progress, I’ve decided to provide little snippet teasers to keep you going until the releases are public. You can sign up for my newsletter at the bottom of this page.
Mom chuckles, “This, is your Dad’s mother, Baelath.” The elegant lady holds my shoulders at arms length – she’s slender, her long hair is almost black and her eyes are a hazel brown. “You have your mother’s eyes child. We have missed you so much.” Her eyes glisten with the threat of tears as she loses a tiny bit of her composure.
Suddenly an image flashes through my mind. It’s like a memory trying to resurface, but it’s hazy and dream-like, as though I’m trying to see something clearly through tear filled eyes. There were two young girls and a woman picking flowers in the forest. Surprised I step back from Baelath; as she loses contact with me the vision fades. “What on earth was that?!” I ask Baelath.
“What was what my dear?” Baelath asks, confused.
“Just now, when you held my shoulders, a vision of some girls picking flowers jumped into my head, did you do that?” In all honesty I was more freaked out by how similar the vision was to my dreams, but I’ve never experienced a dream while awake before.
Baelath looks at my mom with concern and I notice a look of surprise on Mom’s face, but what isn’t lost on me is that neither of them appear to be confused. What the hell? The man next to Baelath says, “The mind works in mysterious ways child, enjoy whatever journey it may take you on.” It’s clear that he considers the bizarre moment a closed matter.
I look at Baelath confused. She smiles at me, a hint of sadness touching her eyes.
Mom squeezes my shoulder in what seems like a silent plea to move on.
