It takes my parents less than two weeks to get things in order for our “move”. I never did tell them that I’m treating this more like a vacation; that I’ll be moving back with Jordan once we’ve proven that their voodoo hippie friends won’t have anything useful to shed on my dreams and unusual mood swings.

I look around, trying to get my bearings. I don’t recognize this place, yet it’s vaguely familiar.  There was clearly a battle, or perhaps more of an ambush; an act of terrorism. The carnage and destruction are unspeakable. The loss of innocent lives is oppressive.
