A woman is lying on a bed, the sweat rolling down her brow. She screams out in pain.
“Something’s not right,” she pants.
A man is at her bedside checking her vitals. He looks up at a window, another man nods his head imperceptibly.
“Here dear, drink this, it will help with the pain.” She does.
“What’s happening?” another man asks. “Her last child birth wasn’t like this. Why?”
“I’m not sure. There might be something wrong with the baby.”
“Nooooo!” The woman yells.
The emotional agony that I feel is almost as powerful as the physical pain. But the woman is tired, I can feel it.
