I’m feeling on a pretty good roll these days. Not only am I full steam ahead on the rewrite for the full Elves of Eytherfel story, I also got my website revamp finished.
And with that revamp came a Beta Reader Membership that was met with enthusiasm when I proposed the idea to my Facebook followers.
I have one small hiccup in the revamp – I can’t edit the newsletter templates that my site is using to send out emails to my website followers!
It’s a problem I’m pondering a solution to but for now, we’re just going to go with it as it is.
So for those of you who have come across this post because of an email you received, I had planned to send a separate “Hey I’m back email” – but I couldn’t lol. So here it is!
I hope you’ll continue this journey with me, and maybe join the Beta Readers Membership too, but if you don’t, that’s ok too (you can unsubscribe in the email you got – hopefully that feature still works, but email me at email@example.com if it doesn’t.)
Otherwise, thank you all for your patience, encouragement, and support. I’m excited about the next leg of this journey and I hope you are too!
Don’t forget to poke around the new site – I’d love to hear your thoughts!!
To provide some perspective to the revision process… I wrapped up the full story in two books (wasn’t sure if I was going to go for a trilogy or not). The total of the two books came in at just over 160,000 words.
But the completion of Book 2 brought with it a whole pile of pieces that needed to be improved, fixed, removed, or revised in Book 1. I finally embarked on tackling these revisions on February 1st after transferring my manuscripts into a program called Scrivener.
It is now February 15th, and I’m at the start of Chapter 18 of Book 1 and just over 48,000 words of revised manuscript. Chapters 1 and 2 have been published on my site for Beta Readers and Chapter 3 is scheduled for February 20th.
As one of my friends mentioned on Facebook – I can be so nerdy sometimes… so for those of you who are nerdy too…
48,000 words in 15 days is an average of 3,200 words per day. Based on a total of 160,000 words, that leaves 112,000 words left for revision (though it’s likely that the total word count will end up higher than 160K). But sticking with what we know… 112,000 words at an average of 3,200 word per day, should have the revision finished in about 35 days! That would be March 22, 2019. Giving myself an extra 9 days of cushion, my goal is to have the revisions done by March 31, 2019!
Thank you again for being a part of this journey!
