I walk into the cottage and immediately Mom’s there giving me a big hug, like she’s been standing at the door waiting for me.
“I’m so sorry Amanda, we should’ve prepared you better for this move. There’s a lot for you to take in.”
“It’s okay Mom, I’ll get over it. But I do think we need to talk about some things.”
“Of course, honey. Why don’t we get some lunch and talk. I’m sure you’ve got lots of questions.” It’s like she knows exactly what I need.
“That sounds good,” I give her the best smile I can to reassure her.
It takes my parents less than two weeks to get things in order for our “move”.
