DBW – Chapter 6

I pinch the bridge of my nose, close my eyes and focus on my breathing – it works, I can feel the haze, that had been forming again, begin to lift.

“Well that explains why so much of what I’m encountering seems so familiar. I’ve had so many déjà vu experiences since we got here that I was beginning to wonder about my past lives.”

“Well I had hoped that by reading my books, our history, that you would feel more familiar and comfortable here when we did return. I certainly did not mean for it to cause you distress.”

DBW – Chapter 5

I wake up sweating, my face is wet with my tears, my arms hurt and my legs ache. Why are these dreams so damn real! What is happening to me?! I try to remember what happened, I’m not even sure what day it is. I remember news of Mom’s brother being injured but that he’ll be ok – but was that actually real or was it yet another dream? It must have been a dream.

I lay there for a moment, recalling the events and dreams of the past couple of days. It all seems surreal. The impossibility of it all is still overwhelming – I’m convinced that my imagination has finally snapped to fully consume my conscious mind.

DBW – Chapter 4

“My lord, it is confirmed. Amanae has returned to Eytherfel,” Mailian stands with his head bowed before Korali.

“Excellent, clearly Ruana and Kadrim took heed of the archives I planted,” Korali says while he ponders his next move.

“Yes my lord, however…” Mailian pauses, uncertain how Korali would react.

Korali bristles, “What is it? Out with it!” He has no patience for people who waffle about what they have to say.

DBW – Chapter 3

I walk into the cottage and immediately Mom’s there giving me a big hug, like she’s been standing at the door waiting for me.

“I’m so sorry Amanda, we should’ve prepared you better for this move. There’s a lot for you to take in.”

“It’s okay Mom, I’ll get over it. But I do think we need to talk about some things.”

“Of course, honey. Why don’t we get some lunch and talk. I’m sure you’ve got lots of questions.” It’s like she knows exactly what I need.

“That sounds good,” I give her the best smile I can to reassure her.

Full Steam Ahead

I’m feeling on a pretty good roll these days. Not only am I full steam ahead on the rewrite for the full Elves of Eytherfel story, I also got my website revamp finished.  And with that revamp came a Beta Reader Membership that was…

DBW – Chapter 2

It takes my parents less than two weeks to get things in order for our “move”. I never did tell them that I’m treating this more like a vacation; that I’ll be moving back with Jordan once we’ve proven that their voodoo hippie friends won’t have anything useful to shed on my dreams and unusual mood swings.

DBW – Chapter 1

I look around, trying to get my bearings. I don’t recognize this place, yet it’s vaguely familiar.  There was clearly a battle, or perhaps more of an ambush; an act of terrorism. The carnage and destruction are unspeakable. The loss of innocent lives is oppressive.

Are you a lover of romance in literature?

I have to admit that I’m more drawn to books that have a romance thread in them, than those that don’t. I even went through a phase of reading one Harlequin romance after another. While they weren’t necessarily the best reading quality, they were…

What is an aura? Can they truly be seen?

I’ve always been fascinated by the concept of auras. So it’s not really surprising that they took a role in my books. Aside from the slightly crazed look in this guy’s eyes, this picture is a pretty good visual representation of the experience Amanae…

What if your life wasn’t really what you think it is?

Have you ever wondered “what if”? What if magic were real? What if mythical creatures were real? What if you’re not actually human? What if you’re not actually human? Click To Tweet I’m sure you’re starting to gather from the nature of my articles…

If you could shape-shift, what animal would you pick?

Since I’m a lover of animals, both real and mythical, choosing an animal form that I would have the ability to shape-shift to is a nearly impossible choice for me. There are many animal forms that are majestic, beautiful and powerful – which really sums…

Never be late again with Teleportation?

So I have this rather horrible trait of constantly running late, for pretty much everything in my life. It doesn’t come from a lack of caring or irresponsibility. It’s more akin to Murphy (as in Murphy’s Law) and I having a severely ongoing battle…

What if you could control an element?

If you had the choice to be able to control an element, which would it be? Air, water, fire or earth? This is a pretty easy one for me, I’d want to control air. Though my reasons for such a definitive answer may cause…

What do you procrastinate on the most?

What if you could speak telepathically

Would you be into the concept of being able to speak telepathically? I can say that hands down YES I would very much be into the ability to speak telepathically. It’s probably why this particular ability is one that is a bit more prominent…

Is communication becoming a lost art?

What if you could read anyone’s mind?

I’ve seriously pondered the concept of ‘what if I could read anyone’s mind’ and I’m rather on the fence about it. For certain there have been countless times when I have definitely wished that I could read someone’s mind! But in reality, would it…

We are what we think

My post last week of What if you were immortal got my mind to thinking about my life in general and my belief that we are what we think. I can say with confidence that I strive to live my life to its fullest,…

What if you were immortal?

Yes, that’s right – what if you were immortal? How would that change your life or the way you live your life? Writing fantasy novels certainly brings to mind all sorts of questions and what-if scenarios. I’ve always loved exploring these what-if scenarios even…

As an entrepreneurial author one of the many challenges I come up against is keeping up with the social sharing rat race. In an effort to ease this pain point I’ve tried several different scheduling tools. While each of them are useful in their…

Do you read as many books as you used to?

I know I certainly don’t read near as many books as I used to and I know that there are a few reasons for that; some legit; some excuses. However, I would like to start reading more books again and so the headline of…

How do YOU pick a hobby?

Where does the inspiration come from?
